Two gamblers collected big paydays in Las Vegas this month, with jackpots hitting at a pair of off-Strip casinos known for drawing locals.
A Honolulu resident named Melvin placed a $2 wager at The Orleans on March 15 and hit all eight of his numbers, winning $100,000. The bet paid out at 50,000x, and the winnings would cover 68 nights at Turtle Bay Resort back home.
One day later, a player named Eric hit a seven-card straight flush playing Pai Gow Progressive at South Point on March 16. The hand paid $171,511. Eric also received a $10,000 Fortune bonus.
