PokerStars U.S. Operations Move to FanDuel, Uniting Three-State Player Pool for the First Time

Flutter Consolidates Its North American Poker Assets Under One Roof

PokerStars confirmed Tuesday that its North American online poker operations will be folded into FanDuel, merging player pools across New Jersey, Michigan, and Pennsylvania under the new brand name "PokerStars exclusively on FanDuel." PokerStars Ontario will also make the move. Both companies fall under Flutter Entertainment, one of the largest online gambling conglomerates in the world.

Flutter has not yet set a hard launch date for the transition. PokerStars Rewards will continue accruing through March 13. After the cutover, players have 30 days to withdraw their funds. Anyone who misses that window will be sent a check.

Bigger Pool, Bigger Prize Money

FanDuel already runs online gaming across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Michigan, West Virginia, and Connecticut, and that existing user base is precisely what PokerStars is after. "This move merges player liquidity for bigger prize pools, larger guarantees, and more exciting competition in the United States," the company said in an online hub detailing the changes.

The timing also settles some unfinished business. When Pennsylvania joined the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement last April, BetMGM Poker and WSOP Online both opted in. PokerStars passed. The FanDuel integration now brings Pennsylvania into the shared pool and gives players access to online casino and sports betting on the same account. BetRivers Poker operates its own shared pool connecting Pennsylvania, Michigan, Delaware, and West Virginia.

Room to Grow

West Virginia is already part of FanDuel's footprint, making it a natural candidate to join the shared poker pool down the line. Connecticut has not yet signed onto the MSIGA, though the state showed some movement in that direction last year.

CoinPoker Hits Nearly 12,000 Users on Relaunch Day

The PokerStars news lands the same week CoinPoker rolled out an updated client, reporting nearly 12,000 users on the first day after launch. Site operators also said the new client has surpassed 7,000 players and is offering 100% rakeback to all players for the entire month of March.
