Wynn Summer Classic Concludes with $69M+ in Prizes, Sklenicka Wins Championship with Miraculous Quads

The 2025 Wynn Summer Classic wrapped up on July 14 at Wynn Las Vegas, closing out nearly eight weeks of tournament action that began on May 21. Over the course of 87 primary events and dozens of satellites, the series awarded a staggering $69,175,810 in total prize money—far exceeding the originally posted $40 million guarantee.

Once again, the Wynn reaffirmed its place as one of the premier destinations for summer poker in Las Vegas.

Championship Finale: Sklenicka Stuns Field with Quad Eights to Take the Title

The flagship event of the series, the Wynn Summer Championship, featured a $10,400 buy-in and a $10 million guaranteed prize pool. The event drew 1,537 total entries, generating a final prize pool of $15,062,600.

In a dramatic three-way all-in during the final hand, Czech pro Michael Sklenicka held 8♠7♣ and found himself up against Jun Obara’s pocket kings and Daniel Rezaei’s pocket tens. The board ran out K♥ 7♥ 8♥ 8♦ 8♣, giving Sklenicka an improbable quad eights to scoop the pot, knock out both opponents, and claim the Wynn Summer Championship title.
